Binny Bansal, co-founder of Flipkart, has ventured into the startup scene once again, this time with the launch of OppDoor, a company aimed at providing comprehensive solutions for e-commerce firms worldwide. This move follows Bansal’s departure from Flipkart after its acquisition by Walmart in 2018, marking his first entrepreneurial endeavor since leaving the e-commerce giant.

Having sold his remaining stake in Flipkart last year, Binny Bansal received approximately $1-$1.5 billion from his shareholding in the company. Alongside Sachin Bansal, Binny co-founded Flipkart and later exited the company after its acquisition by Walmart for around $16 billion in 2018. Since then, Binny has been an active supporter of various startups, backing approximately 60 ventures, including Acko, Ather Energy, Curefoods, Cultfit, BrightChamps, Unacademy, and Yulu.

OppDoor, registered in Singapore and established in May 2021, initially operated under the name ‘Three State Ventures Pte Ltd.’ The startup functions as a venture capital firm, attracting investments from diverse startups across India, such as Curefood and Scapia.

The primary goal of OppDoor is to assist e-commerce companies in achieving global excellence. By offering end-to-end solutions, the startup aims to support these firms in expanding their operations on a global scale. Despite not featuring details about Binny Bansal as the owner on its website, Moneycontrol has confirmed, citing sources, that the startup indeed belongs to him.

OppDoor’s services are currently available in eight countries: Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, the UK, and the US. Notably, the startup is not providing services in India as per the information available on its website. OppDoor engages directly with businesses, providing them with the necessary tools and support to facilitate global expansion in the competitive e-commerce landscape.
